Last tour finished

Well, the tours are over for the year, and we’ve had a great time. Seen so much, done so much, and learnt so much. Now it’s time to research the final details for next year’s tours. Today we leave this lovely place, Le Cheyssignaguet in the Perigord, and head south toward the Languedoc. Tour B next year will travel from Barbentane (booked a great place there, the same one as last year) down past the Millau Bridge (the highest bridge in Europe, an engineering masterpiece) to Carcassonne, then through the Midi-Pyrenees and up to Le Cheyssignaguet again. We need to check the travel times (nobody wants to travel too far in a day, including us!) and also check the accommodation options. So a busy few days for us before we join friends for a day’s sailing at Port Grimaud, across from St Tropez. One thing we learned this year was that our guests appreciate the occasional rest day – it’s hard work being a tourist! So we will definitely need to factor in that option. Picnics are always popular, as is eating “at home”, interspersed with meals out at very different restaurants. Breakfasts at 8.30 a.m., start the day’s sightseeing about 10.00 a.m, either a picnic or lunch at home, and dinners in or out about 8.00 p.m. Full days! So roll on next year! We already have confirmed bookings and are looking forward to meeting our future fellow travellers. The next few blogs will show some of the many activities we have undertaken during our time here in France. So many things …
